Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has expressed confidence that his party will take over Aso Rock and the Lagos government house in 2027. He made this vow at an event in Lagos where the Conscience Forum of the Labour Party (LP) joined the ADC .

Aregbesola emphasized the need for the ADC to take over the seat of power in Abuja and Lagos, stating that with the party’s resolve, it won’t be difficult to achieve. He also commended the leadership of the Conscience Forum for organizing the event and welcomed the new members into the ADC fold.

The former governor of Osun State also highlighted the importance of internal democracy within the party, ensuring that every member’s voice matters and every vote counts. He noted that the ADC is committed to prioritizing youth and women, allocating 50% of elective and appointive positions to these demographics .

Aregbesola’s statement comes as the ADC prepares for the 2027 general elections, with the party aiming to produce the next president of Nigeria. The event in Lagos marked the 25th anniversary of the Conscience Forum and demonstrated the growing support for the ADC in the state.
